Why a Dash Cam Card Is Different

Dash cams write continuously and overwrite constantly, which destroys ordinary consumer cards within months. These are specified for that duty cycle:

• SPOR (Sudden Power Off Recovery) protects the file being written when power cuts — exactly what happens in a collision, when that clip matters most
• UHS-I write speeds sustain 4K recording without dropped frames
• Validated against Thinkware firmware, so no compatibility surprises

Choosing Capacity

Higher resolution eats storage fast. As a rough guide, a 4K two-channel setup fills 64GB in around two hours of driving before it starts overwriting. If you want several days of parking footage retained, or you rarely download clips, size up.

A card is not included with most Thinkware cameras — check your bundle before ordering. Replace the card every 12 to 18 months under daily use; they are consumable items.
