Big Brake Kit Installation in Andover, NJ
A big brake kit is one of the few upgrades that changes how a car feels on every single lap, and one of the easiest to get wrong. Wrong bracket, wrong line, unbled corner — all of it shows up the first time you need the brakes. We install big brake kits at our shop on Route 206 in Andover and hand the car back ready to use.
How we install a big brake kit
- Confirm fitment first. Caliper clearance against your wheels is where most big brake projects go wrong, so we check it before anything is ordered or unbolted.
- Look over what stays. We check the hubs and the rest of the brake system the new kit will rely on, so a new caliper is not paired with a problem that was already there.
- Install to spec. Calipers, brackets and rotors go on at the correct torque, and the brake lines are routed so they clear the wheel and suspension at full lock and full droop.
- Bleed the whole system so the pedal is firm from the first stop.
- Road test before the car is handed back.
Whether the kit comes from us or somewhere else, the install and checks are the same.
What it does for you
- A pedal that stays consistent lap after lap instead of going long as the brakes heat up
- More heat capacity, so pads and rotors hold up better under repeated hard stops
- Stopping you can predict, because the system responds the same way on the last lap as the first
Not sure which kit?
Piston count is not the whole story — rotor diameter, wheel clearance, front-to-rear balance and how often the car sees track time all matter more than a bigger number on the caliper. Tell us the car and how you drive it and we will tell you honestly which kit to buy, including when the answer is that you do not need one yet.
