Overview

The BMW E92 M3 is a modern classic — sharp handling paired with a sublime naturally aspirated V8, and a favorite among track-day enthusiasts. Verus Engineering set out to build a cohesive aerodynamics suite for the E92 centered on balance and driver confidence, and this Front Splitter Kit is its foundation.

Front splitters produce front-end downforce with minimal drag increase by creating a large pressure delta between the upper and lower surfaces. Using scan data taken directly from the car, this splitter was developed to pair with the UCW Rear Wing Kit and comfortably handles the downforce that pairing generates. It mounts at multiple chassis locations for a strong, durable install, and all hardware locations are recessed for improved aerodynamic performance and a factory-like finish.

The blade is produced from carbon polyweave, the same material used in top-tier motorsport. It isn't brittle, so it avoids the cracking common to carbon fiber and ABS, and it won't grab and bend under the car the way aluminum units can. It's also light and stiff — an ideal splitter material.

The air dam brings the splitter flat with the vehicle's underbody to improve performance further. It's made from sheet aluminum and powder-coated black for durability.

The Engineering

Properly designed front splitters greatly increase front-end grip. Using state-of-the-art software, Verus extracted additional performance from the splitter and air dam combination through an iterative design process, and sized the splitter to counteract the rear wing and diffuser for a safe, effective aero balance — important, since an unbalanced car is harder to drive at the limit.

This kit is part of the Ventus Aerodynamic Kit, a system designed to work in concert to add significant downforce, reduce lap times, and increase corner speed.
