About Muteki lug nuts
The Muteki SR48 is a lightweight open-ended lug nut made in Japan from chrome vanadium (28DCRVM spec), about 2 oz per nut. Kics lists thin-wall construction, an oversized tapered seat for best contact, external drive with a common 17 mm hex, knurled tips for grip and full stud engagement, and says it can take long racing studs and is stronger than aluminum racing nuts. The open-ended design adapts to short or extended wheel studs.
Muteki is a line of Japanese racing lug nuts from Project Kics, offered in a range of lengths, thread pitches and colors.
