Why Add a Rear Camera

A rear camera doubles your coverage. Rear-end collisions and insurance fraud both happen behind you, where a front-only camera records nothing at all — and being hit from behind is one of the most commonly disputed claim types there is.

Fitting

The camera mounts to the inside of the rear glass and connects to the front unit with a rear camera cable, which is sold separately unless yours came with one. Route the cable through the headlining rather than across the trim for a clean result.

Install as high on the glass as practical, above the wiper sweep line where fitted, and away from heater element lines that can show up in the footage.

Compatibility

Rear cameras are model-specific. Resolution and connector both differ between families — a U3000 rear camera records higher resolution than a Q200 unit and won't work on the wrong body anyway. Select the exact camera you own.
