A Circular Polarizing filter that clips over the dash cam lens to cut glare and reflections.

What It Fixes

Windscreen glare is the most common complaint about dash cam footage, and it tends to strike at the worst moment — bright sun low in the sky, wet roads throwing back light, or the dashboard reflecting into the glass. A CPL filter cuts those reflections at the lens, so the road stays visible instead of washing out.

It also makes a visible difference to colour saturation and contrast in daylight, though the glare reduction is the reason most people fit one.

Worth Knowing

A CPL slightly reduces the light reaching the sensor, so night footage can be marginally darker. If you drive mostly after dark, weigh that against the daytime gain. Most drivers find the trade worthwhile.
