Overview

Verus Engineering started this rear spoiler with a clean-slate approach. Using NX, they produced a spoiler with G3 surface continuity for a cleaner look, while CFD work in OpenFOAM confirmed it improves vehicle performance. The spoiler increases the high-pressure zone on the trunk, adding rear-end downforce at speed.

It's an efficient downforce-producing device that doesn't increase drag significantly — a good match for naturally aspirated cars where drag is costly. Pair it with the High-Efficiency Rear Wing for a substantial increase in rear downforce.

The Engineering

The spoiler creates a high-pressure area at the top rear of the car, which is what generates downforce — without a spoiler, that area produces lift. Controlling the trailing edge feature minimized the drag increase while retaining the downforce benefit. It works alongside the High-Efficiency Rear Wing and isn't detrimental to wing performance when the two are run together.
