Overview

The wind buffeting these Porsches suffer from with the windows down is a well-known annoyance. Verus heard about it from owners, experienced it themselves on track, and built a fix.

These deflectors attach easily with 3M VHB double-sided tape. Each is produced from multiple pieces of pre-preg carbon bonded together, then clear coated in an automotive high-gloss finish.

Scan data taken in-house ensured the units contour properly to the mirror bases, and CFD confirmed they work as intended without adding unnecessary drag or disrupting other aerodynamic devices downstream.

The Engineering

The buffeting comes from airflow around the A-pillar attaching and detaching while the windows are down, building pressure waves in the cabin. These deflectors ensure the airflow detaches cleanly as it passes the windows, stopping the problem at its source.
