Overview

The Verus Engineering Carbon Polyweave Side Splitter Kit completes the aerodynamic appearance of the Mk5 Supra. Designed to flow with the factory side splitter, each unit features a horizontal member that reduces the amount of high-pressure air making its way to the underside of the car. That high-pressure air produces lift, so reducing it reduces lift on the chassis — particularly noticeable in yaw, while turning.

Construction is carbon thermoplastic (carbon polyweave), offering the appearance and strength of carbon with the durability of plastic. These withstand impacts considerably better than carbon fiber.

The Engineering

The side splitters improve downforce by reducing spillage of high-pressure air onto the underbody — an effect far more present in yaw than in a straight line. Less spillage means less lift than the factory car, improving overall downforce. A good addition for anyone after more downforce specifically while turning.
